Long term tests

Ford Mustang GT

Our 'Stang must have been hurt by my jibes last month, for it managed an all-time-best fuel consumption figure of 20.6mpg on a recent long run, while the fuel-filling problem seems to have, er, evaporated. It's a common problem, though. Fellow Mustang owner Steve Hopkins kindly pointed me in the direction of the Mustang Owners Club forum, which has a thread dedicated to the 'click-click-click' problem. Hopefully a permanent fix beckons.

Confession time. You may have noticed last month's shot of P555 showed it minus its Roush wheels. Well, due to a supply problem from the States, the set we had fitted a few months ago were on loan, and had to go back before our wheels arrived in the UK. Ours are now here though, and they've just been fitted (see above), along with some 285/40 Yokohama Advan Sport tyres.

I look forward to reporting vastly increased grip and traction next month.
