Jaguar F-Pace R-Dynamic Black revealed – prices begin at £46,765

The Jaguar F-Pace SUV is now available in R-Dynamic Black trim, adding black trim elements and more kit as standard

Following the launch of the F-Type R-Dynamic Black pack in April, Jaguar has given its F-Pace SUV the same treatment. Coming at a premium of around £6000 over a standard car, the trim level provides significantly more kit as standard, altering interior and exterior design with stealthy black trim. Prices begin at £46,765, rising to £78,165 for the range-topping SVR.

As with the F-Type, not a single centimetre of exterior chrome survives the conversion, with all exterior trim now finished in gloss black. Mirror caps, roof rails, the grille and grille surround, window trim, side vents, rear valance and badges are all now darkened. To match, a set of 20-inch gloss black wheels with contrasting red calipers is also included.

Inside, buyers are treated to a fixed panoramic roof and privacy glass, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto designed to make the infotainment experience a less strenuous affair. ‘Premium’ cabin lighting increases LED colours from 10 to 30, with satin Charcoal Ash wood trim also now standard – the former is available as an option on an ordinary F-Pace. A raft of driver assistance and safety systems come as standard too, including adaptive cruise control with steering assist.

Though it might be considered a gimmick to some, Jaguar’s new Tesla-style air ionisation system also allows drivers to ‘purge’ the cabin of stale air ahead of a journey, with CO2 sensing helping to regulate carbon dioxide levels and air quality when in motion.

Powertrain offerings remain identical to those of the standard car with mild-hybrid diesel four and six-cylinder units, plug-in hybrid petrol offerings and the range-topping SVR on the menu. The SVR features the same 5-litre supercharged V8 found in all of JLR’s high performance products, producing 542bhp for a 3.8sec 0-62mph time and 178mph top speed.

On the SVR, the new Black pack replaces Jaguar’s satin grey SV Exterior pack with gloss black grille trim, bonnet vents, intake surrounds, badges and more. Gloss black 22-inch forged wheels can also be equipped at a cost, with the aforementioned interior amenities also coming as standard.

One solid and seven metallic paint shades come at no charge on R-Dynamic Black cars, while two premium metallic options are a cost option.

The Jaguar F-Pace R-Dynamic Black is priced from £46,765 in the UK, a £6090 hike over an equivalent standard car. Topping the range is the SVR, costing from £78,165.
