Prancing Horse's V8 California drop-top gets public unveiling

The Ferrari California, the brand's first folding hard-top convertible, was revealed to the public for the first time in Paris. Its design has had many critics, and we've been a bit unsure of the car, but it works much better in metal than pictures seem to justify, although the inevitable happens at the back of the car, with a larger rear to accommodate the trick roof.

It's a key model for the marque though, and as the name suggests, the main market for the California is America. It's practical folding roof and 4.3-litre V8 should go down a treat, and despite the weight of that hard-top, sub-4sec 0-60 times and some F430-esque performance is promised.
