The Goodwood Revival is pretty much a motorsport time machine, recreating the sights (and action) of a race meeting from the 1950s or 1960s. Modern vehicles are banned from the Goodwood circuit for its duration, advertising signage is kept as subtle as possible, and the crowds get into the spirit by dressing in period costume.
The 2011 event, which was held last weekend, combined plenty of fierce on-track competition, including some spectacular crashes, with a unique atmosphere that's somewhere between that of a fancy-dress party and a very large village fete.
