Cadillac CTS-V Coupe special edition revealed

Cadillac has announced a new CTS-V model for next year, and given us a final version of the outgoing 556bhp coupe. Pictures and details here

Cadillac has announced a new special edition CTS-V model as a last hurrah to the successful car, ahead of the next-generation model’s launch next year. The limited edition model gets a few tweaks, although it does retain the 556bhp supercharged 6.2-litre V8 engine.

The Mercedes C63 AMG-rivalling CTS-V Coupe is the most extreme and powerful model in the range, and features one of the better chassis setups – thanks to the company’s time spent developing it at the Nurburgring. Unlike the regular model, this run-out special will get Magnetic dampers, like the Corvette, and red Brembo brake calipers.

Three colours can be specified: Crystal White, Black Diamond and Phantom Gray. Buyers also have a choice of gearbox, either six-speed manual or automatic. The interior is a bit more special than the regular model, thanks to black trim with red stitching, Recaro sports seats and a suede steering wheel. There’s also some subtle black Sapele wood trim.

The special edition will be available in the USA later in the year, and will be limited to just 500 units. Prices start from $72,195 (£42,821 at current exchange rates)
