Life with evo's long-term Ford Fiesta Zetec S hasn't all been plain sailing. While it's one of the most fun superminis on the market, with cool looks, sharp steering and a funky interior, ours has felt somewhat corrupted since its Mountune upgrade. There's extra power, but its raucous exhasut makes an off-putting amount of noise when you use it.

But a trip to Ford's heritage collection, and the chance to drive some of the Fiesta's ancestors (and fulfill a childhood ambition of driving an Escort XR3i!) was the chance to gel with the Mountune-equipped car and get a better feel for its character.
