SEAT Cupra

Ibiza Cupra in the pipeline

SEAT Cupra

SEAT’s Ibiza Cupra, due to be launched at the Paris motor show in October, will be powered by VW’s 1.4-litre TSI engine, which uses both a turbo and a supercharger to generate 178bhp. There’s no word on performance yet, but expect it to rival the Mini Cooper S and Vauxhall Corsa VXR, with 0-60mph taking less than 7sec. A seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox will be an option. The Cupra goes on sale here next summer, and should cost around £16,000.
