400bhp Volvo C30

A four wheel drive Volvo C30 hot hatch with close to 400bhp? We'd say yes to that

400bhp Volvo C30 hot hatch

Although Volvo’s C30 is a decent steer, handsome and refined, there’s always been something missing. That could be about to change with Volvo and Polestar Performance announcing the development of a four-wheel-drive, 395bhp concept C30.  Polestar Performance hope to use experience of running the C30 that competes in the Swedish Touring Car championship and transfer this to the road, using aerodynamics influenced by the race car on the road going version. Although no further information is available currently we’re hoping it will be an absolute belter.  Additional technical details are due to be announced for the concept C30 in the coming weeks. The car is due to make its public debut at the Gothenburg Motor Show from April 22 to 25.  Volvo has already been working with Polestar to develop engine upgrades for all D5-engined vehicles. Essentially a remap, the upgrade can be retrofitted to the V70, S80, XC60, XC70 and XC90 models as well as the outgoing S60. Power and torque are boosted by 20bhp and 37lb ft respectively and the remap can be undertaken by any Volvo dealership for £640. Click here to read about evo’s Volvo C30 T5 long termer See the C30 take on BMW 123, VW Scirocco + Mazda RX-8
