Our countdown of the quickest cars around the legendary track

The Nurburgring has become a proving ground for the very fastest and most extreme production cars. When Porsche set out to break the 'sub seven minute' mark in the 918 Spyder, the gauntlet was very much laid down.

But the 918 Spyder isn't the fastest production car to ever go around the Nurbrugring. In fact, it's something very different.

Inspired by the announcement yesterday that the Shelby GT350R Mustang had managed at 7 min 32.19 sec lap time at the Nurbrugring, we figured a top ten was in order.
