Gran Turismo 5

Full version of Gran Turismo 5 racing simulator is revealed by Sony at computer game show

Gran Turismo has always been one of the most highly regarded driving simulators, and it’ll be back soon in its fifth incarnation.

While we’ve already seen GT5 Prologue, a cut down version to show what the new Playstation 3 game will offer, this is the first preview of the full thing. Scroll to the link below to see a trailer, revealed by the game’s developer Polyphony Digital at the E3 gaming show in America this week.

GT5 will feature official and fully licensed WRC world rallying and NASCAR, as well as (for the first time in Gran Turismo) car damage, as previewed by the shot of the pranged Impreza in the screen shots on the right. How detailed it’ll be remains to be seen, as in the past manufacturers haven’t been keen to see their cars in bits on the game.

Also revealed was the first ever portable Gran Turismo, in the shape of GT Mobile for Sony’s new PSP Go hand-held console. There’s no news on UK release dates for either game yet.
