Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010

Goodwood announces an Italian motorsport theme for the 2010 Festival of Speed

The 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed will celebrate the best of Italian motor sport and the influence that Italy has had on racing. ‘Viva Veloce! – The Passion for Speed’ is the event’s catchy title, with Italian cars, drivers and events all under the spotlight. So as well as championing the achievements of Ferrari and Maserati in Formula 1, there’ll be celebrations of Valentino Rossi’s hugely impressive record on a Yamaha and a look at Mercedes’ conquering of the Mille Miglia and Porsche’s Targa Florio successes. A big spotlight will be cast on Alfa Romeo in recognition of its centenary year, while there’ll also be celebrations for the Formula 1 World Championship (60 years), Carrera Panamericana road race (60 years) and the RAC Rally (50 years). Goodwood Festival of Speed founder, Lord March said - ‘It will be fabulous to have so many great cars and drivers here at Goodwood to celebrate our Italian-flavoured Viva Veloce! theme for 2010. I look forward with much anticipation to seeing some of the greatest drivers, riders and machines in action.’ The provisional dates for the 2010 Festival of Speed are July 2-4.
