2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed details

Despite being eight months away, the theme of the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed has been confirmed

The 2012 Goodwood Festival Of Speed theme has been revealed as ‘Young Guns - Born to Win.’ It’s pointing in the direction of those drivers and riders throughout history who have made an instant impact upon the sport overnight. The theme is announced as the success of the documentary film, ‘Senna’, continues; Ayrton Senna is of course a shining example of Goodwood’s chosen theme.  The theme will look into the lives of drivers such as Colin McRae and Henri Toivonen, Emerson Fittipaldi and Lewis Hamilton. Alongside the central theme will be the marking of Lotus Engineering’s 60th anniversary, with an appropriate display of a collection of winning Lotus machinery, ranging from road cars to Formula 1.  There’s good news for the young guns visiting, as the ‘Young Persons’ ticket trialled at this year’s festival returns, offering half price tickets for 13-21 year olds (an improvement on 2011’s offer for 13–18 year olds). The show runs from June 28 to July 1 2012.
