Rolls-Royce Ghost sports saloon

Rolls-Royce names its 500bhp+ sports saloon - the 200EX concept becomes the Ghost

Rolls-Royce has used the Shanghai motor show to announce the name of its new sports saloon. Codenamed the RR4, it will actually take on a classic name – the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

It will satisfy a more performance orientated Rolls buyer, packing a 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 engine with ‘upwards of 500bhp’. This will be mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox.

Production of the Ghost starts later this year, with the car getting its own line at Rolls-Royce’s Goodwood plant. It will share wood, paint and leather workshops with the larger Phantom model, which has been on sale for six years now.
