Audi RS Q8 – MPG and running costs

Not much, and lots. But if you can afford it in the first place...

Evo rating
RRP
from £122,280
  • Relentless performance; unshakable handling
  • An RS6 is cheaper and superior in every way

The RSQ8 is unlikely to be on Greta Thunberg’s shopping list, let’s just say that. Despite a shedload of clever fuel-saving tech such as cylinder deactivation, a 48V mild-hybrid electrical system and all the rest, Audi quotes a WLTP consumption figure of 21.6mpg for the base car, and 21.4mpg for the Performance. Emissions are an equally scary 299 and 300g/km, respectively.

Supplementary running costs are also likely to be high – you’ll likely jump right to the top of your local tyre supplier and fitter’s Christmas card list (a new set costs around £1400, including fitting), and swapping out the carbon-ceramic brake discs will no doubt come with eye-watering costs.
