AC Schnitzer launches upgrades for G82 BMW M4

The all-new BMW M4 has only just hit the road, but German tuner AC Schnitzer has already revealed a range of upgrades

BMW tuner AC Schnitzer has wasted no time developing upgrades for the new G82 M4,, launching both aesthetic and performance upgrades for the all-new sports coupe, with even bigger packages in the pipeline.

AC Schnitzer is yet to offer a bump in output for the UK’s Competition-spec cars, but those in other markets with a standard M4 are in luck. Final details of the upgrade package are yet to be disclosed, but the tuner has managed to extract Competition power from the ordinary M4, bringing output to 503bhp and 480lb ft – in factory form, the Competition hits 62mph in 3.9sec and goes onto a top speed of 180mph when equipped with the M Pro Package.

Also new is AC Schnitzer’s lowering spring kit, dropping ride height by up to 25mm at the front and 20mm at the rear. If you’re willing to wait, the brand has also said it will offer a fully adjustable ‘RS’ suspension package in due course, allowing drivers to tweak bump, rebound and ride height settings depending on the scenario.

AC Schnitzer’s M4 Competition then also comes equipped with a complete aerodynamic upgrade package said to increase both aggression and downforce. A new front splitter, side skirts and both roof and boot-mounted spoilers are part of the upgrade – the latter is said to increase downforce by up to 13kg over the standard car at 124mph.

There’s a new 20-inch forged wheel option, available in either silver, diamond cut or gloss black finishes – wrapped in 285-section front and chunky 295-section rubber to help translate all that power to speed.

A number of other modifications are also in the pipeline including a less restrictive stainless steel exhaust system, a larger carbonfibre rear wing, new diffuser and more. Pricing for all upgrades can be had upon application.
