Video: Ferrari FF on ice

Former world rally champion Markku Alen takes a Ferrari FF supercar for a blast on a Swedish ice rally stage

World Rally Champion and ice track specialist Markku Alen has taken a Ferrari FF for a spin – over a snow and ice rally stage in North Sweden.

Driving a 651bhp Ferrari around the Arjeplog track in minus 30 degrees temperatures may seem like an impossibility, but thanks to the four-wheel-drive system, the FF had no problems gaining traction in the arctic conditions. In fact, it allowed Markku to have a bit of fun over the rally stage, which he later commented was an ‘enjoyable drive’.

Taking to the ice and snow like he was driving his old Fiat 131 Abarth to victory in 1978 (when he was crowned world champion), Markku demonstrated the FF’s potential by keeping the car under control in the low-grip conditions. In this video you can see how holds the FF in huge slides while maintaining complete control of the prancing horse. Sounds good, too.
