  • Distinctive looks, plenty of space, excellent warranty
  • Engines outclassed by rivals', ride a bit busy

Design

The Sportage rally marked a turning point for Kia’s design, the crossover featuring the signature ‘tiger nose’ grille to give it a bold face. It’s still an attractive car today, its relatively simple overall shape highlighted with some neat detailing - particularly around the front and rear lights. Higher spec models add some sparkle to the exterior, but like the equipment count inside, buyers of the entry-level Sportages aren’t short-changed when it comes to the exterior looks.
