Lotus to partner with Mansory for upgrade kits

German customisation specialists Mansory will be supplying a range of optional styling kits for the Lotus range.

The Norfolk marque has chosen Mansory as its ‘Official Customisation Studio’, promising a range of modifications for the Elise, Exige and Evora. It is likely, however, that the partnership will continue when the company finally rolls out its all-new model line.

After the Evora Concept Bespoke was revealed at Geneva in 2011, the pair’s first collaborative project was the Evora GTE, which proved to be an order book success for Lotus with over 250 orders from China and Europe. This spawned two special editions- the Evora GTE by Swizz Beats and the (less questionable) Lotus F1 Team Evora GTE, which featured raw carbon-fibre bodywork.

Purists may not like or understand the move, but Lotus are sure that Mansory are the perfect choice given the company’s new direction. As Wolf Zimmerman, Chief Technical Officer at Lotus said: 'Together, I am confident that we will continue to produce outstanding sports cars, with the bespoke qualities that many of our discerning customers look for.'
