Luxury edition of the Clio 197 cranks up the comfort levels
Renault is bringing a luxury version of its hot Clio to hot hatch-hungry Britain for the first time. Renaultsport models – especially the hardcore ones – have done well on these shores, with the majority of the limited-allocation Megane R26.R coming here.
We’ve never gained the softer, more luxurious Renaultsports that traditionally do well in Europe though – until now. The Clio 197 Lux boasts additional comfort and refinement (read: weight) via leather seats, climate control, auto lights and wipers and satin chrome finish sprinkled around the interior and exterior. It also grows £1000 in price, although Renault says you are actually getting an extra £2k worth of equipment.
And fear not, you can add the Cup chassis option for an extra £400. Although whether that’s a little contradictory after sprinkling luxurious equipment all over your Renaultsport is up to you…
