Audi R8 options and V10 transplants for BMWs
The Audi R8's £76,825 price certainly draws people into the showroom, but it seems that once they’re there they can’t stop ticking the options boxes – the average price for a right-hand-drive R8 currently stands at just under £90,000… Incidentally, the split between those buying the standard six-speed manual and those opting for the R-tronic paddleshift system is 60:40, proving, we hope, that there’s life in the good old stick-shift yet.
GERMAN tuner G-Power is offering V10 engine transplants for a number of BMWs. Its latest offering is an E46 M3 CSL fitted with said engine – further tuned to give 550bhp. The company can also squeeze the mighty unit into the Z4, and is working on a twin supercharger upgrade that should yield 750bhp. For more details, visit www.g-power.de
