evo goes classic racing!

Come and wave the evo team on at the Le Mans Classic and Silverstone Classic races

Over the next few weeks two members of the editorial team will be taking part in some of the most prestigious historic meetings of the year. First off, John Barker will be at the wheel of a Ford Capri at the Le Mans Classic, racing around the clock on the full iconic circuit on the roads of La Sarthe. The meeting takes place over the weekend of the 12th/13th July, so if you plan to head out there look out for his Capri blasting down the Mulsanne straight and some appropriate drifting through the Ford curves. Two weeks later (25th-27th July) Roger Green will be swallowing a few brave pills as he straps himself into the most successful Porsche 962 of all-time at the Silverstone Classic. The Advan-liveried car won the Japanese championship three years running in the mid-eighties and is now estimated to be worth £1,000,000. Roger will be qualifying on Friday and then competing in the 90-minute David Leslie Memorial Trophy on Sunday where 35 of these incredible cars will be closing in on 200mph down the Hanger straight. Of course there will be full features on both these races in a forthcoming issue, but why not go along and watch the action for yourself.
