Intriguing I.DE.A Institute roadster concept will debut at Geneva motor show

This rather lovely little sports car is the I.DE.A ERA, a roadster concept from Italian design house I.DE.A Institute.

While it's not really a serious production possibility, it does reassert the company's intentions. It turns around a ten year absence from the Geneva motor show for I.DE.A, which intends to return to the production car designing scene. 'With ERA we are looking to the future - this is just the first in a series of models we are creating to reaffirm our design capabilities' said I.DE.A chairman Pietro Lardini.

The car itself is typical concept car fantasy - gullwing doors, mad tubular interior, properly elegant styling - and should be a hit at Geneva. If any of its styling cues drip down to production cars I.DE.A gets to have a hand in designing, that can only be a good thing.
