Essen Techno Classica 2014: gallery

A gallery from the 2014 Techno Classic Essen – including perhaps the most impressive display of Mercedes-powered racing cars ever seen.

The Essen Techno Classica is officially the biggest classic car show in Europe, and this year saw more than 190,000 international visitors pass through its doors.

As always, the show plays host to a host of different attractions, including the many weird and wonderful themed club stands, specialist car restorers as well as high-end classic dealers.

Manufacturers put on a good show too, with Citroen, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar and many others showing off key historic cars – as well as their latest offerings. The Volkswagen group and BMW each had a hall to themselves. Both were impressive, although neither could touch Mercedes-Benz, which pushed the boat out this year to celebrate 100 years of motorsport.

F1 cars, Silver Arrows racers, pretty much every DTM car ever as well as a wide selection of Group C cars. They were all there. See the gallery of images below:
