Chevy's 190mph Bargain
Chevrolet used the Detroit show to give more details of the forthcoming 500bhp Z06 Corvette. Don't let its similarity to the standard 'Vette fool you - this is far more than a badge-and-spoiler kit. It has a wide-track aluminium structure (the ordinary car is made from steel), a carbonfibre-and-balsawood floor and a slightly downtuned version of the 7-litre LS-7 pushrod V8 that powers the Le Mans racer, complete with dry sump lubrication.
