Having already established a tuning division for its V8-engined cars (i.e. Monaro) in conjunction with Tom Walkinshaw, Vauxhall is now looking after the tuning needs of four and six-cylinder VXRs with the VXR Performance Centre.
Attached to Vauxhall's BTCC race preparation partner, 888 Race Engineering, and based in rural Oxfordshire, the VXR Performance Centre will provide seriously developed aftermarket upgrades covering everything from bigger brakes and suspension packages, to engine tuning and aerodynamic enhancements. The centre is also looking to create total upgrade packages, developed in conjunction with the BTCC drivers, to make VXRs even more hardcore - a 285bhp Astra and an Astra Sprint are already well down the development path and the Vectra will be next. As well as petrol-engined VXRs, the centre has developed upgrades for turbodiesel Astras. For more info, go to www.vxrperformance.co.uk
