New BMW M5 M Performance Edition

A YouTube video unveils BMW's first special edition F10M, the M5 M Performance Edition, with new matt paint finishes and a stonking price tag

A more exclusive BMW M5 is on the way. The new F10M generation M5, equipped with a 552bhp twin-turbo V8 engine, has been on sale a matter of months, yet BMW has already crafted a special edition. The BMW M5 M Performance Edition has been teased via a YouTube video, showing it off in new Frozen (otherwise known as matt) paint finishes. Red, white and blue – colours in keeping with the M Division theme – will be offered, with just ten of each making it to the UK in a total run of 30 cars. Other styling tweaks include 20in matt black alloy wheels, piano black interior trim and a laser-etched 'ONE OF 30' plaque. Much like the multitude of BMW M3 special editions sold in recent years, performance stays the same, so that 552bhp V8 continues to hustle the 1.8-ton super saloon to 60mph in 4.3sec and onto a 190mph top speed, should you spec the optional M Drivers’ package. And there's also an M3 M Performance Edition, too, with similar styling upgrades and identical colour options to its more powerful four-door sibling. The 30-off M5's exclusivity comes at quite a cost, however - at £95,140, its price is a whopping £22K more than a regular M5. The M3 is marginally better value, a mere £19K pricier than standard at £74,080. The BMW M5 M Performance Edition is previewed in the video below…
