Jaguar S-type: Jag S-type revised

Sportier front end and price cuts for ’07

Jaguar is aiming to eke some extra life out of the slow-selling S-type with a minor facelift, additional standard equipment and a five-grand price cut for the supercharged S-type R.

All models will now feature the front bumper and mesh grille treatment of the sportiest model in a bid to make the lesser S-types seem more ‘Silverstone’ than ‘pipe and slippers’, while to tidy up the range some trim levels have been dropped, as has the naturally aspirated V8 model.

The entry price point for the S-type has fallen to £28,995 (3-litre petrol 'Spirit'), while the price for the S-type R has been slashed from £50,040 to £45,000.
