Mazda Takeri concept: Mazda Takeri concept

This new sporting saloon could be Mazda's next 6, and it's being unveiled at the Geneva motor show

The Takeri Concept is Mazda's latest mid-size saloon, and it will be making its European debut at the Geneva motor show. This is far from a production-ready concept, but it points the way to Mazda's next mid-size saloon, eventually replacing the Mazda6.

It's the latest concept to use the 'Kodo - Style in motion' design theme, developing the overall idea of a sporting four-door coupe from the 2010 Shinari Concept. Showcasing a new regenerative braking system, called i-ELOOP (Intelligent Energy Loop), this car is dynamically focused, but majors on efficiency - with the company's new SKYACTIV-D diesel engine and six-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission. The various different systems are said to rincrease overall efficiency by 10 percent.
