The press days are over and the Los Angeles auto show has already opened its doors to the paying public.

We’ve covered the show in all its glory in our full Los Angeles auto show guide, and highlighted each of its stars in detail. But there’s always more to a motor show than the headline-grabbing stars.

At this year’s LA show, that included everything from reappearances of the new Mazda MX-5 (and its racing equivalent) and the stunning MINI Touring Superleggera Vision concept, to a pristine Shelby Ford Mustang GT350 and a Toyota 2000GT.

It also included a selection of unique vehicles in LA’s enormous aftermarket hall. These creations have to be seen to be believed – so click on the gallery above to scroll through the good, the bad and the ugly from Los Angeles…
