Nissan 370Z

The clever synchro-rev gear shift is really starting to be appreciated

Nissan 370Z

Against expectations I’m starting to really appreciate the 370Z’s synchro-rev auto-heel-and-toe system. Surprisingly, you need to really rev the big 3.7-litre V6 to get the best from the engine, so last-minute downchanges to second gear on the way into deserted roundabouts are a necessity, yet with the system engaged they’re also a breeze. What happens after that… I’ll tell you next month.
