Nissan 370Z priced

Highly anticipated 370Z to cost £166 more than its 350Z predecessor

Nissan has priced its new 370Z coupe, and the good news is that it's very competitive. Prices will start at £26,895, a mere £166 more than the kick-ff point of the current 350Z.

That buys you the new 3.7-litre V6 RWD car, with 326bhp and 270lb ft - rises of 17 and 6 respectively. While that may not sound a massive improvement, the new, larger engine makes its power available from lower down the rev range and boasts a 7500rpm redline. The wheelbase is shorter than the 350Z's while the car's weight is down 32kg.

The base £26,895 370Z gets 18in alloys, climate control, aux-input stereo and Bluetooth phone. £30,195 buys you a GT Pack 370Z which gets 19in forged RAYS alloys, heated leather seats and synchro rev control - a system that matches the revs during gearchanges to make shifts quicker and smoother. An extra £1700 upgrades you to GT Ultimate spec with an abundance of suede and a trick DVD sat nav.

Unlike the 350Z there's a seven-speed auto on the options list at £1400, a key addition with America as one of the car's core markets. It gets a manual mode operable via steering wheel paddles or gearstick.

Online orders start on February 2 with UK customer cars delivered in July. In the meantime, you can read our Henry's drive of the Nissan 370Z in Japan.
