2022 Porsche Panamera 4 Platinum Edition revealed

Porsche’s luxury four-door picks up new Platinum Edition trim for the 2022 model year

The Porsche Panamera saloon and Sport Turismo have been revealed in a new variant called the Platinum Edition, bundling popular options onto its entry-level Panamera 4 and 4 e-hybrid powertrains.

Additions to the standard specification in both models include adaptive air suspension with PASM dampers, LED Matrix headlights, a panoramic sunroof and a reversing camera – all usually found on the options list.

Platinum Edition cars can be picked out externally by the grey-painted 21-inch alloy wheels, black-finish sports exhaust tip finishers that replace the standard oblong units, privacy glass, clear tail light lenses and a high-gloss black finish for the window surrounds.

Inside, the base Panamera’s interior upholstery options are unchanged, but usually optional GT Sports steering wheel, soft-close doors with comfort entry, 14-way electrically adjustable seats and BOSE surround sound system lift the internal spec. Bespoke to the Platinum Edition are a set of monogrammed aluminium sill finishers and an analogue clock in the place usually occupied by the otherwise optional stopwatch in versions fitted with the Sports Chrono package.

All 2022 Porsche Panamera 4 and 4 e-hybrid models are fitted with a twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 with 328bhp or 424bhp, for the standard and hybrid models respectively, connected to a rear-biased all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

All Panamera Platinum Editions are priced at about £8000 more than their standard variants at between £83,510 and £94,840, but if specified equivalently represent a significant saving. All will be revealed for global markets next week at the Los Angeles motor show, before reaching customers in the first quarter of 2022.
