Audi A5 Sportback review - does it add to the coupe's appeal? - MPG and running costs

The new A5 Sportback takes all the good from the coupe and puts it into a more practical package

MPG and running costs

Crucial for the company car market, excellent drag figures and frugal engines mean the A5 is just as efficient as its more sensible A4 brother. MPG ratings range from 68.9mpg in the 2.0 TDi ultra to 45.6mpg in the 2.0 TFSI petrol.

CO2 ratings are also competitive to the rival 4-series Gran Coupe, so will make little difference on the monthly payment. Thanks to high residual values the A5 will also prove to be better value in the long run against rivals like the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Jaguar XE, although servicing and maintenance are more representative of the premium badge.
