Aston Martin DB9 GT review (2015) - Interior and tech

It might be feeling its age, but the DB9 GT is still a very desirable car

Evo rating
  • Desirability factor, refinement, V12 engine, bags of character
  • Ageing interior tech, gearbox slow to react, can feel dated compared to rivals

Interior and tech

Any Aston Martin interior is special and the DB9’s is no different despite its advancing years.

The craftsmanship and the fit and finish is how you would want and expect your hand built British sports car to be and the new touch sensitive controls on the centre panel are a generation away from the early car’s small, fiddly buttons.

The interior isn’t the most generous when it comes to space and some may find it cramped compared to more spacious rivals. There’s very little useable oddment storag, either so your smartphone will need to live in your pocket.

As for in car tech, Aston has sorted its Bluetooth connection, which is easy to sync and the reception acceptable. There’s also a plug-in adapter for music devices to sync to the radio, but the sat-nav is woefully. Seriously, it’s shocking buy an atlas.
