Performance and 0-60

Performance is a word that needs to be taken in context with the 108 as compared to most cars on sale, we could say it doesn’t really have any. In reality, the 108 GT-Line’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine has about enough punch to zip in and out of hectic London traffic, but on larger roads needs to be worked surprisingly hard to keep up with surrounding traffic.

The one pleasant side-effect of the 108’s minuscule engine is its propensity to race up and down the rev-range with surprising veracity. It’s actually quite enjoyable as a tool to sharpen up your heel and toe skills, even if the exercise is a little pointless at 20mph.

The sprint time from 0-62mph tells you little as the 108’s more ideal operating window is at more like 0-40mph.
