Peugeot Prologue

Further proof that Peugeot is moving away from hot hatches

The Prologue is a hybrid concept that previews the new 3008, a Nissan Qashqai-style MPV crossover that produces 200bhp while pushing out low emissions of 109g/km thanks to its hybrid power. It looks good, and should bring a bit of style to the family car segment. It does seem to mark the end of C-segment firecrackers from the French brand, though. The 306 bred two of Evo’s favourite hot hatchbacks – the fantastic GTI-6 and Rallye. The 307 and 308 have only had mild GT versions, their practical body shapes lending themselves better to this roomy concept than a true hot hatch. Fingers crossed the production 308 RC Z can live up to fast Pugs of the past.
