£1.5m Ferrari Monza SP1 and SP2 lifted to 832bhp by Novitec

As if they weren’t extreme enough from the factory, Ferrari’s SP1 and SP2 have been made even more wild by tuner Novitec

Ferrari revealed the Monza SP1 and SP2 in 2018 as the pinnacle of its front-engined V12 offerings, but for some it simply wasn’t enough. For those individuals, German tuning company Novitec has now worked its magic, bringing more performance and aesthetic tweaks to the special project models.

Under the bonnet is the same 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 as in the ‘standard’ cars, with a handful of tweaks lifting its outputs to 832bhp and 575lb ft of torque – increases of 34bhp and 45lb ft. Alongside improved throttle response and pulling power across the rev range, Novitec claims it will enable the SPs to sprint from standstill to 62mph a tenth quicker, at 2.8sec, and go on to a higher top speed of over 186mph. Yes, without a windscreen…

The improved output comes from the use of a less restrictive exhaust system designed especially for the Monza. Available in either lightweight Inconel or more typical stainless steel, it features redesigned headers and free-flowing metal catalytic converters. As if the car wasn’t ostentatious enough, you can even have the Inconel system plated in near-24 carat gold – for improved heat dissipation, of course. Also available is a valve system for the new exhaust, a welcome option should you value your relationship with your neighbours...

A set of 21-inch front and 22-inch rear faux-centre-lock wheels are also on the options list, developed in collaboration with American wheel manufacturer Vossen. Available in an array of colours and finishes, not only do they add some unique flair, they also reduce unsprung mass thanks to their forged construction. To help lift those new wheels into the arches is Novitec’s sport spring kit, reducing ride height by 35mm at both ends.

As always, Novitec will also completely reupholster the interior in whatever shade of leather and/or Alcantara you desire, perhaps a worthy modification in a car with such a visible cabin.

Pricing details haven’t been disclosed, but it’s safe to say that a gold plated inconel exhaust system won’t come cheap…
