BMW M235i review - not an M2, but still entertaining - Design

One of BMW's best

Evo rating
Price
from £34,535
  • Huge amount of performance for money; brilliant dynamic package
  • Heavy, wobbly convertible is a three-star car

Design

The M235i is 72mm longer (with 30mm of that in the wheelbase) than the M135i hatchback it’s based on, and the front and rear tracks have been widened by 41 and 43mm respectively. What’s more, while the 1 Series coupe shared its front end with the hatchback, the 2 Series gets a face all of its own, complete with more prominent kidney grilles and lights that appear to have heavy eyebrows.

The M235i Convertible is a very pretty car, particularly from the front. The shape works well as a Convertible, too, which will surely make this car a hit with the image conscious – it certainly serves them better than it does driving enthusiasts.
