Best on-board videos of 2014 | INSIDE evo

Watch our favourite raw, unedited on-board footage from our 2014 drives in the big hypercar trio and other stunning exotica

LaFerrari, McLaren P1, Porsche 918; these are just three poster boys from a spectacular list of cars we’ve driven in 2014. While evo Magazine has helped to reveal our most epic driving stories in print (our favourite covers and spreads of 2014 can be found here), our YouTube videos have brought you closer to the action and vocal talents of a very special list of cars on screen.

You may remember the McLaren P1 v Porsche 918 Track Battle video from November, which has since sparked a flare of discussion across the motoring world as to which is ultimately faster. Or Henry Catchpole’s stunning adventure videos, perhaps peaking with his gorgeous drive through the Majorcan mountain passes in a Porsche Boxster GTS. And what about Jethro Bovingdon’s contrasting visit to a sodden Italy in the convertible Ferrari 458 Italia Speciale A? Let’s just say the rain didn’t stop play…

On top of this video exotica, we’ve also driven some more ‘affordable’ cars, with Dan Prosser’s most recent drive in the 5-door Mini Cooper S confirming you don’t have to spend six-figures to have fun on track. And our Track Battle between the ultra-hot-hatch Seat Leon Cupra 280 and Renaultsport Megane 265 Cup showed how a sorted front-driver can be  extremely good fun.

We’ve certainly had a stunning year for video, and what better way to celebrate them than to release our favourite on-board footage in their raw, unedited form for your enjoyment? Our picks from the year include the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Mitsubishi EVO rally car, BMW M5 and the ‘widow making’ Porsche 911 GT2 RS, plus the three aforementioned hypercars. These videos do their best to project The Thrill of Driving onto your computer screen.

The drivers who got to slide, power and thread these cars through Yas Marina, Blyton Park, Fiorano and Anglesey are evo’s Richard Meaden, Jethro Bovingdon and racer Marino Franchitti. Let us bring you closer to their world, so ride on-board with them in our video above.
