Overfinch Range Rover Sport offers more luxury and more noise

Interior, exterior and exhaust enhancements from long-standing Range Rover specialists Overfinch

Overfinch has announced its latest package of enhancements for the Range Rover Sport, concentrating on exterior styling, interior trim and an exhaust system – though no performance improvements are included.

The latter is a shame given Overfinch built its reputation on improving the performance and handling of standard Range Rovers. The company was known for dropping Corvette engines under their clamshell bonnets and drastically cutting body roll, but given Land Rover’s current products are a lot more accomplished on the road these days, it’s perhaps not surprising that Overfinch is focusing its efforts elsewhere.

The latest exterior enhancements are more subtle than the efforts of most Range Rover customisers, but still add aggression to the Sport’s shape. Options include front and rear air dams, a rear spoiler, and a new grille and side vents – and all are formed from carbonfibre rather than the usual plastic.

A range of alloy wheels is offered, from already sizeable 21-inch units to enormous 23-inch wheels, and even the Overfinch exterior lettering can be customised, the company offering predictable options like black and rose gold, but also promising bespoke options with inlays of the customer’s choice.

Inside, attention has been turned to the seats, with two styles of leather retrim offered. One is a diamond quilted design and the other a modern hexagonal stitch pattern, with both designs trimmed by hand. Contrast stitching is available, and of course customers will have fairly free reign when it comes to colour combinations.

Overfinch is happy to work on the SVR, too, with extension of that car’s carbon interior trim, plus retrimmed sports seats with contrasting stitching and piping. Little effort is needed to improve the SVR’s exhaust note, but other Sports get the option of an Overfinch exhaust system with Bluetooth-controlled valves.
