Land Rover understands the strength of its heritage, so the Range Rover’s familial link to the original is as deliberate as it is delightful. The ‘floating’ roofline with black pillars, clamshell bonnet, split rear tailgate and buff, assertive frontage and prominent Range Rover script above the grille and below the rear window are all brand signatures. It’s not backward looking or retro though; it, like its predecessors, is constructed from aluminium and we cannot imagine how much it’d conceivably weigh if it wasn’t.

 Proportionally the standard wheelbase looks better than the long wheelbase model, that 198mm stretch also robbing the Range Rover of some of its legendary off-road ability. Not much though…
