Hyundai i20 N (2021 - 2024) - design

The exterior design is just as rambunctious as the driving experience. You can spec it subtly; why would you?

  • A brilliantly executed package that’s a serious threat to the Fiesta ST
  • Ride can be a bit thumpy; engine lacks sparkle

Visually, you won’t be hard-pressed to spot an i20 N – even when it’s not sporting the trademark Performance Blue colour. It comes with complex 18-inch wheels finished in anthracite grey, plus a sizeable rear wing on top of the roof that’s much more aggressive than the integrated units of its main competitors.

The bumpers front and rear are completely redesigned, and feature aggressive lower splitter, skirt and rear diffuser-like inserts that are then further emphasised by chunky red stripes, or silver in the case of cars with the optional deep red paint finish. A clever design quirk is how the red stripes almost integrate the triangular rear fog lamp – a recurring graphic on most N models.

Some paint finishes can be combined with a black pillar and roof arrangement, giving the N even more visual distinction from its lesser siblings, but however specced there will never be any mistaking this for a standard model.
