Driving The New STi

As before, the WRX STi is heroically fast. The Twin Scroll turbo in the Japanese-spec car might have 'only' 276bhp, but it's brilliantly free-revving, smooth and powerful, and with monster mid-range torque has the kind of surging overtaking ability that makes gearchanging optional. Keep it on cam between 3-8000rpm and, with the Impreza's short gearing also in play, it hammers on in eye-widening style.
