Not spent much time with the Stang of late, thanks to Harry deciding to ditch his Merc-engined Italian kit car for a week or so of driving a proper pedigree vee-hickle, then Brett Fraser Cuban-heel-and-toeing his way through Fenbilly territory before Jethro woke the genteel Sussex coastal town of Bosham with some Detroit thunder.

Those miles I have done in the Mustang have reminded me just how competent it is, both as a spirit-lifting drive and as a long-distance commuter. Even Kenny P is smitten with its combination of presence, character, ability and big-hearted performance. With it being ten years since Mr P bought the ex-Performance Car Mondeo V6 long-termer (he still has it now!), could history be about to repeat itself? Watch this space.
